A Commitment to Relationships
Neighbor2Neighbor in Westport is designed to be a community,
offering generous hospitality and at the same time building accountability
among staff, neighbors, and volunteers.
Services of Neighbor2Neighbor:
Meals
Neighbor2Neighbor partners with volunteers from churches,
synagogues and other groups to serve noon meals 7 days a week (hot lunches
Tuesday through Saturday, and sack lunches on Sunday and Monday). A daily
breakfast is provided as well as an evening meal five times a week. The average
number of meals served each day is now over 250.
Neighbor2Neighbor in Westport partners with Harvesters so that the
program can purchase food at a minimal cost.
Health Care
Swope Parkway Health Services provides health clinics for basic
health care and special screenings (diabetes care, heart health, etc.).
Mental health support is provided through the case manager by referral
to other agencies for mental health care and alcohol and drug treatment.
Case Manager
Neighbor2Neighbor recently received a generous grant that is now
supporting an on-site case manager who can assess the needs of neighbors and be
their liason for appropriate resources.
Legal help
An attorney is available on a volunteer basis to help persons that need
legal services.
Employment services
Through referrals to Goodwill Industries and Bishop Sullivan Center,
persons can be assisted with job readiness and job searches. N2N has also
recently received generous grants to begin a structured program for job
readiness and experience.
